acrylic and variegated gold leaf on canvas, 2010
Every day for one month I stared at the Braille Institute on Melrose & Vermont (Los Angeles) for up to an hour per day. I then went immediately to my studio, mixed paint in a bucket, closed my eyes, and painted my memory of the building using my hands. The final layer of text and windows is variegated gold leaf.
